Philanthropy is increasingly challenging to new as well as
established benefactors. How donors define their mission objectives, the formal
structure of their philanthropy, and their giving criteria determine
the reach and impact of their charitable dollars.
Benefactors give not only from their heart, but also as an extension of their values.
Successful individuals often want their children to know the satisfaction of philanthropy.
Donors today frequently view giving as social investment.
They want to be sure that such an investment yields a tangible outcome in community
benefit. I help both new and established philanthropists deal with these
issues, drawing on what I’ve learned the past two decades as a foundation
executive, corporate contributions manager, and volunteer advisor to
non-profits.
